Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Ooedo Onsen, I approached it with mixed feelings due to the varying reviews I'd read. The spacious rooms, a rarity in Japan, provided a comfortable home base. The hotel's offerings were commendable - the buffet had a wide selection for breakfast and dinner that catered even to European tastes. While I appreciated the courteous evening staff who were open to our concerns, the overall quality of the stay felt mismatched with the expectations set by online photographs. The peaceful ambiance and pleasant scents in the halls contributed to a relaxed atmosphere. Conveniently located near a walking area and train station, this quiet town doesn't boast extensive dining or shopping options, but there's a convenience store nearby. I availed myself of the free ice cream in the lobby and the extensive facilities, including the hot spring baths, which added value for those seeking relaxation. In essence, while the experience didn't wholly align with luxury, it presented reasonable comfort for its price.
